Data we collect
When you use VoxNutshell, we collect the following information:
- Account information: email address and authentication data when you sign up
- Text input: the text you submit for speech generation, stored temporarily to process your request
- Generated audio: the audio files produced by our TTS system, stored on Cloudflare R2
- Voice cloning data: audio samples you upload for voice cloning, stored securely and accessible only to you
- Usage data: character counts, generation history, and API usage metrics
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details
How we use your data
- To provide and improve the text-to-speech service
- To process your payments and manage your subscription
- To enforce usage limits based on your plan
- To detect and prevent abuse of the voice cloning feature
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your text input or generated audio to train AI models.
Data retention
Generated audio files are retained based on your subscription plan:
- Free: audio stored for 24 hours
- Starter: audio stored for 7 days
- Creator: audio stored for 30 days
- Pro: audio stored permanently
Cloned voice profiles are stored as long as your account is active. When you delete a cloned voice or your account, the associated audio samples are permanently removed from our servers.
Text input used for generation is not stored after processing is complete.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: authentication and database hosting (EU region)
- Stripe: payment processing — subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare R2: audio file storage
- Modal: GPU compute for TTS inference
- DeepSeek: text preprocessing for prosody enhancement (text only, no audio)
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data and account
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain data processing
